I believe we all look up to the same sky

I believe
The sky is always beautiful
And that
It doesn’t matter if its colours
Are a mere illusion
If it is not really
Cerulean blue
Or midnight black
And the sunset doesn’t
Bleed orange and purple through the clouds

I believe
The sky is a mystery we pretend we understand
Vast beyond our imaginings
And yet
Right here
Slipping unheeded through our fingers
Breathed in with
Every
Single
Breath

I believe
The sky does not discriminate
Between
The human-shaped specks here below
That the ever-present,
Oft-hidden
Rainbow
Stretches wide enough to hold
All of us
Each of us

Who look up in wonder
At the same sky
